The Village Hänigsen is part of a urban district from Uetze community. It's located approximately 27 kilometer east of Hannover.
Hänigsen was first documented and mentioned in 1226 and was then called "Henighusen" (which meant - site of the tribe Henning). In 1529, the reformation was implemented in Hänigsen.

The nickname of Hänigsen is "Kasparland".
Lots of the townsfolks have "Kaspar" as their first name till the middle of 19th Century. That's kind of weird, isn't it?!
This good-old-looking post mill (Bockwindmühle in German) is originated from 1705. This is earliest type of European wind mill.
I enjoy visiting this small village very much. It has its charm which I can not describe.
